Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data GridPlay collects, why, and how it is used.
Information We Collect
GridPlay collects the absolute minimum necessary to operate:
- Username — A display name you choose (2–15 characters). Stored only in your browser's localStorage. Never transmitted unless you submit a game score.
- Game scores — Your best score per game mode (Numerix Rush Easy/Medium/Hard, FlashGrid, PulseGrid Easy/Medium/Hard). Saved to our Firebase Firestore database alongside your chosen username and a timestamp.
- Anonymous authentication token — Firebase automatically assigns an anonymous identifier when you visit. This is never linked to your real identity and we do not store it ourselves.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses, passwords, or any personal identity information
- Location data or IP address logs
- Browser fingerprints or advertising identifiers
- Any information about your device beyond what the browser sends in a standard HTTP request
How We Use Your Data
- To display your username on the global leaderboard alongside your best score
- To prevent duplicate leaderboard entries (we only keep your personal best per mode)
Third-Party Services
GridPlay uses Google Firebase (Firestore + Authentication) to store leaderboard data. Firebase's own privacy policy applies to data processed through their infrastructure. We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.
Data Retention
Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. To have your entries removed, contact us with your username.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your leaderboard data at any time. Because we do not collect email addresses, contact us via the GridPlay community channels.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will note the update date at the top of this page. Continued use of GridPlay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
